Current Obsession: She and Him

So I'm outrageously obsessed with music and don't usually have favorites, but right now I'm obsessed with the cute band She & Him with Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward.

This is definitely my FAVORITE of their music vides (they're all good though). "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here? " features Zooey and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who are perhaps the most adorable should-be couple on the planet.  The setting, choreography, and costumes are great! What do you think?

PS: Sorry I haven't posted in a while... I'm working on making a indigo-dyed costume for a competition coming up soon!

More Music!

Okay, so last night I went with some friends to see Grouplove and Belle Brigade, and they were fantastic.
I highly recommend you listen to both of them! The story behind Grouplove is pretty interesting-they all met in Crete and then went to LA and started recording. Pretty cool huh? They were featured in Teen Vogue and  actually sound better live.  Anyway, heres a link and some pictures!

Grouplove

Belle Brigade

Heres some pictures of Grouplove!
Their album name: "Never Trust a Happy Song"

Live  <3

Now some Belle Brigade!!!

And so that complete's today's posts.  As you can see, I'm sort of obsessed with Indie bands:) What do you think? Who's your favorite band of these and what music genre do you like?

Have a great week!

Red Hair and Seabear :)

Hey guys! How was your summer?? I'm sorry I havn't posted in a very long time,
I was busy and I will try to post more frequently from now on! :)
Anyway, this post will most be about my two obsessions I have right now:
red hair and the band Seabear :) ^hence, the blog title
If you like the band I'm about to show you,
I'm doing a blogpost soon with all of my favorite
lesser-known bands, so you're in luck!
To listen, click here!

On another note, theres something so vibrant in red hair that causes it to stand out so much.
It is the hardest color to dye your hair and appear natural,
but with the right shade (example: Drew Barrymore) it can be beautiful.

Red hair comes in so many different variations, but the more natural appearing tones with more orange and copper than actual red tend to look best on people. What do you think? What's your favorite hair color?

*I did not take any of these images

My Photography :]

Hi guys! Hope your summer has been going well. :) Have you gone on any vacations yet?
I have finally written a new post-- again, about photography.
Although I love featuring other photographers,
I thought it would be nice to share my photography for once.
Some of these pictures are really old, but I love them all the same.
Hopefully my skills will improve though, haha. I love taking close ups and landscape pictures!
So because these landscapes are especially gorgeous,
I admit that it is not so much my 'skills' as the automatic beauty of the places..
By the way, you are free to use any of these pictures as long as you do not take credit for them.
And be prepared...this is a REALLY long post.. !

Enjoy:)
The Andes on the Inca Trail In Peru

My friend took this of me, I usually don't post pictures of myself but it's taken in my favorite lighting!
(right before sunset)

It's mostly the bittersweet symbolism and juxtaposition between the engraving in the mountain and the broken roof in this photo that stands out to me

This photo is not especially wonderful, except I felt obligated to post it... for when I was 6 years old I was skiing here in the French Alps and lost control and crashed into this sign..&broke my leg!!  I laugh about it now though-I'm sort of a klutz :] They added the padding afterr my accident.

Peru, again <3

More Peru! Most of my best pictures were taken there, I'm in love with the Andes.

Love sun pictures!! Unfortunately they are horrible for my camera though.. haha

Also in Peru!! WE were in the cloud forest- probably my favorite part of the trip.it was almost on the top of the mountain and the fog was beautiful to me.

This was actually taken when it snowed in Boston-I felt the urge to engrave my hand and a heart in the snow.

Also Boston! Telltale signs of the coming of spring:)

Vermont! I love the bubbles and even the hand- it just gives a fun camp-y sort of vibe

This was taken through the glass, and although the quality is poor, it is the jaguar's expression that pierces my heart. It's cage at the Dallas Aquarium is horribly small and kids are beating on the glass- the poor animal seems lost.

The French Alps again! I love the lighting in the snow

Peruvian rainforest! This section of the river appears very chaotic, which is one of the things I love about the picture.

At Machu Picchu- The stone matches the mountain behind it!

A mysterious path winding through the cloud forest.

In deep thought...

On the plane! The tips of a mountain are just poking through as we prepare to land and  slide through the clouds.

Finally, a simple chair lift going down the mountain to fetch more skiers. Would you like to take a seat?

University of Chicago- The Campus

Of all the colleges I've seen,
University of Chicago has the most beautiful campus!
The architecture is fabulous; it would be wonderful to study there.
Here are some shots of its buildings;
it successfully mixes old and new architecture to have a stunning effect.
What do you think? Wouldn't it be great to live on campus? :)

A Song To Recommend

My friend showed me this song, and I fell in love with it!
Her voice is SO beautiful, and the song is very powerful.
I'm sure many people are able to relate to this- I certainly can...
so I thought I'd share it with you guys,
before she gets famous :]

Feature: Andrew Collings Photography

There's something so fresh about photography when it's done right& Andrew Colling's photography is especially amazing. He photographs weddings and cityscapes, and does a truely does a fantastic job! He's centered in Chicago, which is an absolutely beautiful place (one of my favorite cities, too).

 Enjoy! :)

I love the bright light in this picture, the lighting scale and value on this picture is also fabulous.  The picture is taken below the couple, as if you turned to walk up the staircase and caught them in the moment.  Notice also how the reflective walls draw focus to the light and their figures.

The colors and textures are perfect; this shot also allows the table to fill up half the frame while still being able to view the background.

Nothing like a picture taken just straight up at the sky; beautiful!

Again, notice the light in the background near the couple; it allows just the right touch that makes the shot more interesting.

This time, the focus is on the bride's reflection, rather than the bride herself, which adds even more interest to the photo.

Where was this taken? University of Chicago:) The most beautiful campus ever.

Once again, the subject (the three girls walking), is at a distance, which gives you the sense that you ran into them.

I love this photo- the flower girl looks mesmerized with her surroundings, maybe wondering what her wedding will be like when she grows up.
